Asgaros Forum v1.11/1.11.1: Filters, Mail-Templates & More Enhancements

PreviousPage 3 of 3

upgrade from v1.10 to 1.11 to 1.11.1 now

yes that file exists with 43 lines of code in it.

and I think I just found a few more general settings that had not made it across. eg “Forum visible to logged in users only” was unticked. Given my scenario I’m pretty sure that would have been ticked originally – even on my dev site.

I’m ok with everything  for now but I’ll keep an eye on on the next v1.10 to 1.11.x upgrade I do.

Thanks for the info about v.1.11.2 updates.

@stephank

I will try to bring the old functionality back in the next update with an optional widget-option.

@ray

Is it possible for you to check the php/server error log? Maybe something went wrong during the update-process. If you can figure something out it would be great to reproduce it.

Regarding the color-issue: What exactly do you mean with “the changes dont apply”? Do you mean the new colors did not change in the frontend or do you mean the values are not saved inside the input-field after pressing the “Save settings” button?

@Asgaros

That’d be cool. For now I just added a “GROUP BY p.parent_id” to \includes\forum_widgets.php line: 71 and nothing blew up. Not sure if this is working as expected, but on first glance it seems to do the trick. EDIT: nah, it doesnt’t.. 😉

Thanks for considering though.

Nothing on my server log. But I probably don’t have much logging turned on anyway.

New colours don’t show on the web page (so frontend) even though the change is ‘saved’ when looking at settings in the admin UI.  I’ve done cache flushing /page refresh but I don’t think it is that. But I could be wrong.

Anyway I’m happy to leave it for now – unless I can reproduce it on my next site or if others have similar problems (I thought zen-reiki post above re mentions and colors may be related to my observations)

https://github.com/Asgaros/asgaros-forum/commit/c330281de188b538c656576644a8921e239d4d3e

Hello again @ray

Regarding the appearance-problems: I think its a caching issue. If you set custom-colors a new custom.css-file gets created on your server. If you now change those colors, the values inside the file get updated. You can try it again and reload your frontend-page with CTRL + F5 to ignore your browsers cache and it should work fine.

So, why it worked when you reset everything back to the defaults? Because in this case the custom.css-file gets removed from the server and the link inside the pages sourcecode – and when its not there anymore, all color-changes are gone.
