Uploading images

Hi,

I require my users to upload images from their hard drives, I’ve enabled the upload feature but how do we display the images inline, at the moment they are added to the bottom of a post, we need to be able to add text after the image?

Thanks

Hello @freeze

I am aware of this issue. Improvements to the entire upload-functionality are planned for a future update!

If you want to support the development of Asgaros Forum, you can leave a good review or donate. Thank you very much!

Hey @freeze,

I’ve added the function that you need yesterday to my plugin: Toolbox for Asgaros ForumĀ

The users will be able to upload images within a post by using the “insert/edit image” button.

Just let me know if you need help with it.

Hey Dominic / Asgaros

Love the forum software. I will give it a 5 rating for sure.

Also love the add-on although the problem I am getting is although visually I get everything you show in the screenshots, I get a 403 forbidden message when I try to post as a user (non-admin) to the forum site.

I turned on debug mode but I am unsure how to access the debug log. This might be because I am new to wordpress.

Also when I try to inline image insert onto this forum, I have to upload it, post this message, edit the message, then copy the URL of the image, then insert it inline.

Got any advice?

Hey @orion,

when exactly do you get the 403 error and are there more information with the 403 response? Do you only get it with the inline image upload or also with the Asgaros Forum upload function?

The debug mode only works for general errors and shows the reason for the error directly in a message box for admins. But there is no log written.

Since the 403 response only appears for non-admins I guess there is a problem with a firewall plugin on your website. Please try to deactivate the firewall plugin to check if that is the reason for the problem.

If you are using the inline image function of my plugin you don’t have to upload it twice. You click on the insert image button => click on the directory button on the right of the source field => chose the image and it will be inserted and uploaded in once. There is no need to edit anything after this steps.

Hey there @qualmy91

Thanks for helping me out

This is what it looks like in terms of the 403 response for my forum

And this is what it looks like for the Asgaros forum.

The insert image button appears in the box in my forum but not the Asgaros forum (the one in the screenshot). To insert inline, I have to upload the file into the post, edit the post to get the URL and then copy and past the URL into the inline image URL because only the URL shows, not the insert image button.

if that makes any sense

Oh and I am using Microsoft Edge, if that is important to know? Version 85.0.564.41 (Official build) (64-bit)

Now I got it. Yes here at this Forum is no Inline Image Upload function, because Thomas is not using my Plugin.

But back to you 403 Error.

Did you check if it is caused by a firewall/security plugin?
Does this error appear for the upload of Asgaros Forum and the inline upload?
