social media sharing
Quote from natchoice on December 4, 2017, 8:35 pmHas anyone implemented social media sharing with this forum. I am using jetpack for sharing and the only link that is shared is the main forum link ex mysite.com/community/forum but individual forums or topic links like mysite.comcommunity/forum/category/topic or mysite.comcommunity/forum/category all default back to mysite.com/community/forum.
I really appreciate this forum plugin but struggling to integrate it fully into site in this regard. Thanks for any help

can you run the OpenGraph-Test on your site with one of your topic-links, e.g.:
http://opengraphcheck.com/result.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fasgaros.de%2Fsupport%2F%3Fview%3Dthread%26id%3D426
The meta tags should look something like the ones for my site. If not it can be a problem in combination with a SEO extension.

Thanks for the quick response. My SEO yoast is already configured as indicated the open graph check shows there are two instances of the og:title and og:description tags. The first is the from the page on which the forum is placed (which is what I get when using the social media share) the second is the topic information
Any insights?

Quote from Asgaros on December 5, 2017, 7:06 pmThe double og-information could be responsible for this problem because social webservices are using this information to decide where to link and what to show. So the question is who is generating that first set of og-information. I assume that it is generated by a seo-extension. Can you try to find an option to disable the og-generation for the page where your forum-shortcode is located?
