SEO Problems

Hey @dax78,

please keep in mind that your SEO plugin is not able to read the content of your forum so a few errors does not exist. It’s also important that adding your Keyword somewhere in your Website often times doesn’t help you so much with getting a better rank. It is important but there are other things to consider as well. The most important to do is creating good content that will help your users. Google is tracking how long visitors will stay on your site after clicking on your link in the google search. So focus on creating good information in your forum or separate pages.

SEO suggestions aside (as my understanding is I cant do much about it), the question is how is my forum getting indexed by Google? And how do I have it ranked in the search? I did connect to Google Search Console and for now I have 0 views from Google. There is already content on the forum (not much) but the idea of a forum is that it is self feeding: people search it, register, discuss and content is created. However, how do I have my forum known to Google so people find it if its not getting indexed?

I could put a blog page next to my forum page, but that was not my intent. Maybe that will help a bit….

There is the option of social networking (create content on a FB page and redirect to my forum so people read it), however I did not plan for that either 🙂

Do you guys have some guidelines somewhere in the support pages on how to have your forum ranked by Google? Once I have some members registered, that will feed itself (they will create topics etc).

I must say that probably that SEO plugin I did install helps a bit (although I could have done it myself manually) as using some keywords to search in google has my forum listed (second page of the search results) which wasnt the case before its installation

Hey @dax78,

your meta data is correct even if your plugin still shows an error:

<!-- Asgaros Forum - SEO: BEGIN -->
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.jaguarclubromania.com/">
<meta name="description" content="Forum Jaguar Romania e destinat tutorur iubitorilor de automobile Jaguar">
<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.jaguarclubromania.com/">
<meta property="og:title" content="Forum Jaguar Romania">
<meta property="og:description" content="Forum Jaguar Romania e destinat tutorur iubitorilor de automobile Jaguar">
<meta property="og:site_name" content="Jaguar Club România">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Forum Jaguar Romania">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Forum Jaguar Romania e destinat tutorur iubitorilor de automobile Jaguar">
<!-- Asgaros Forum - SEO: END -->

To get a good ranking at google you just have to follow the usual advice. But you defiantly should write some posts in the beginning to create some content. It’s also important for some new users, that a forum has some posts.

Thanks, I already do have some content and will definitely add more.

It is just that a discussion on the forum is not like a blog (where you can have several pages of text on a topic). Forum is more like we have here, brief questions / answers and media (sharing a photo or a video)

And thx for your help 🙂

You could also create a FAQ section or start some topics with another account.

Hello @day78

Also keep in mind that Google will index your website automatically after a while. Sometimes its fast, sometimes it takes a bit longer – dont worry about that.
