Profile Update Issue
Quote from shayan on February 21, 2019, 4:32 amHello,
We just installed the forum and everything looks ok, however, when I login as a user (not admin) and want to update my profile picture, it gives me a denied access message (see attached).
I appreciate your help to resolve the issue.
Thanks

This error-message is not generated by Asgaros Forum itself. It seems that for some reasons your users dont have access to their own backend-profile. Please check if you maybe accidentially changed permissions by using some kind of access-management or security extension.

Quote from shayan on February 23, 2019, 4:53 amWe tested it further, if we give user role of Author in wordpress, she can update her profile, however it means she will be able to update content of the main website too, while we want the user only update her own profile info under the forum. How can we keep the user as a subscriber role for wordpress while being able to update her profile in the forum?

The Author role is not required for users to edit their profiles. Every normal user – also Subscribers – can edit their own profile inside of the backend. This holds as long as you did not change the core-permissions/capabilities of WordPress in some kind of way (maybe plugins). If this default behavior of WordPress does not work anymore as expected, I would suggest you to check your installed plugins. Maybe you changed some permission/access-settings by using access management/security/etc plugins.
