Mention function
Quote from dogcrafter on February 23, 2018, 9:06 amHello @Asgaros,
Thanks for having this important function out of the Box! Would it be possible, for security reasons, to get this function with the public name and not with the User ID. With an activated mention function, the User is now visible to all, this makes attacks easier.
Thanks

No, unfortunately this is not possible. The reason for this is that the public name can get changed by an user at any time and existing mentioning-links would not work anymore (or would show a wrong name). Its also possible that two users (e.g. Thomas Abc, Thomas Acd) bot decide that they want to show their name as “Thomas A.” to the public – so it would be not clear which one to choose.
Thats the reason why only unique-names can be used because they only exist once and they never can get changed by anyone.

Basically that would be a good idea but with enabled guest posting-functionality guests are also able to mention other users inside their posts – so in this case they would need this kind of information. What I could do is to hide this information when an user is not logged-in and guest posting-functionality is disabled.
But also keep in mind: When a user gets mentioned, his unique name will be still included/viewable inside the content of the post behind the @-character.
