Hello,
I am the administrator of a WordPress website using Asgaros Forum 3.5.0.
Since the forum was installed, users have been unable to publish forum posts containing attachments when using Safari on an iPhone.
Symptoms:
- Posts without attachments are published successfully.
- Posts with attachments are not published at all.
- This happens with JPG, PNG and even PDF files.
- Uploading works on Android and Windows.
- The problem also occurs for an administrator using an iPhone.
- The allowed file types and upload permissions in Asgaros Forum have been checked.
- Disabling the CleanTalk Upload Checker did not resolve the issue.
- No relevant errors appear in the CleanTalk security log.
We use SiteGround hosting and the CleanTalk security plugin.
Has anyone encountered this issue with Asgaros Forum and iOS Safari? Is there a known fix or compatibility issue?
Thank you.

Step-by-Step Guide for the SiteGround.
1. Check the SiteGround Firewall Logs (WAF)
Since the issue happens across all file types (JPG, PNG, PDF) and only on iOS Safari, the SiteGround Web Application Firewall is likely blocking the specific Multipart/Form-Data header generated by iPhones.
• Go to your SiteGround Site Tools.
• Navigate to Security → Protected URLs or check the Access / Error Logs under Statistics → Log Manager.
• Try to replicate the bug on an iPhone, then immediately refresh the logs to see if a 403 Forbidden or 406 Not Acceptable error appears with a blocked rule ID.2. Test the Speed Optimizer Settings
If the site uses the SiteGround Speed Optimizer plugin, Safari might be choking on optimized JavaScript.
• Go to the Speed Optimizer plugin settings in WordPress.
• Temporarily disable Minify JavaScript and Defer Blocking JavaScript.
• Purge all caches and test the iPhone upload again.3. Bypass NGINX Direct Delivery for Dynamic Requests
• In Site Tools, go to Speed → Caching.
• Turn off NGINX Direct Delivery temporarily to check if it resolves the Safari upload timeout.
Or you contact SiteGround support and write them the following:
Subject: iPhone Safari users cannot post attachments in Asgaros Forum (looks like a firewall block)Hi there,I’m having a really annoying issue on my WordPress site with Asgaros Forum, and it seems to be related to the server firewall or security settings.Whenever someone tries to publish a forum post with an attachment (like a JPG, PNG, or even a PDF) using Safari on an iPhone, the post just won’t go through. It either freezes or fails silently. Here is what I already tested:
- Posts without attachments work perfectly on iPhones.
- Posts with attachments work fine on Android and Windows.
- It happens to regular users and administrators alike.
- I already disabled our security plugin (CleanTalk), but the issue is still there.
Since this only happens on iOS Safari when a file is attached, it really looks like SiteGround’s Web Application Firewall (WAF) or some NGINX rule is blocking the specific upload header that iPhones send, treating it as a false positive. Can you please check the server logs on your end to see if requests from iOS Safari are getting blocked (like a 403 or 406 error) when trying to upload files to the forum? If there is a specific rule blocking this, could you whitelist it or let me know how to fix it?Thanks for your help
