How to see only a category ?

Hello,

Thank you for your job,it is appreciated.

My problem.

I created 3 categories and one forum in each.

The first is avalaible for everyone connected.

For the others, I created groups.

I want to build new pages where only group members see this only category.

When I put the shortcode [forum forum="ID"] or [forum category"ID"] members of group can see both their forum and the general one.

Is there a shortcode to see only one forum (group) ?

Thank you in advance,

Greatings

Hey @photoguste,

to show only one forum you have to use

[forum forum="1"]

and for a category

[forum category="20"]

Did you create a new page for every group to insert the shortcode?

You can also find all the shortcodes here:

And what kind of groups did you create? Is it a user group of Asgaros Forum or do you use another plugin?

Hello,

I finally found how to.

In the page I created ( …/mydomain/mypage/ ) I wrote the shortcode : [forum forum="7"]

To access to the only forum “7”, I have to  go to : …/mydomain/my page/?view=forum&id=7

I don’t understand why, but it works  !!

Thank you for your help and happy good year.

Hey @photoguste,

it seems like there is still a problem with your settings. The shortcode should also work without an extension of the URL. Are you using the shortcode on the page that is set to the forum page in the settings (Forum->Settings->General->Forum Location)?

If not, I would advise you to turn on the debug log and check for some errors:

It could also be helpful to use “Health Check & Troubleshooting” to check if there are some problems with your WordPress configuration. In the troubleshooting mode, you can deactivate all other plugins (this only affects your user) to see if there a compatibility issues

Hello,

I have checked, the forums page is correct in the settings.

There must be a conflict with another plugin, but it would be tedious to check everything.

It works with changing url and it’s enough for me currently.
We have a proverb in France that says: the best is the enemy of the good.
I would be too afraid that nothing would work anymore.
Thanks for your good advice.

Ok.

The debug log would be a quite easy way to check for compatibility issues, but it’s up to you.
