different forums on different pages

I have a site with online courses, users need to enroll to all of them to get access, some cost money some are free.

For every course I need a small forum where my students can ask questions about the specific course they are inrolled to.

I understand that I can put the shortcode for a specific forum on any page I want and thats good, but I dont understand why there is only one way to change the forum settings – general – the page that contains the shortcode, because that conflicts with the fact that I can put it where I want with any usergrou I want or what am I missing?

I made a menu with all my fora and made usergroups for each of them so only those students whom are enrolled in the course can see it

The forum-location is basically only required for widgets because if you are using a forum on different pages then those widgets will not be able to “know” to which location it should refer.

okej thanks, it works okej now with the different roles, now I can hide some forums from different users
