Visual Editor seems to disable text box?

Fair warning, I don’t know what I’m doing.

I’m trying to install Asgaros on our site but I seem to be running into a rather odd issue, when I go to post a topic it kicks back an error message saying “You must enter a message.” I have text in the subject and text box fields so there’s definitely text there (I realize in the screenshot I don’t have text in the box, but that’s the message that comes up after I submit the topic. The text is missing and the error message pops up). I did some digging and tried turning off my visual editor and it worked! I can post.

But I’m not sure how to fix it so I can turn the visual editor back on. I tried a few things and when they didn’t work I uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin.

Any ideas?

Hey @ryan,

did you try to deactivate all other plugins and change to a basic theme? You can easily do that with the troubleshooting mode of “Health Check & Troubleshooting”

I had not, my company is using a custom theme so I don’t think I’m able to change it unfortunately. I’ll see what I can do though, thanks!

Hey @ryan,

even if you can’t change the theme. This plugin helps you to find out what is causing the troubles. It will not be changed for other users, it will only affect you temporarily. And if you find the troublemaker you will have the chance to contact the plugin/theme-author to get it fixed.
