User ability to remove themselves from a discussion group

Hi all,

We are using Asgaros fourm on a client site and they have asked if it is possible to provide their users the ability to remove themselves from a discussion group if they no longer which to take part in a particular group.

I could not see anything within the settings, wondering if this is possible somehow.

A massive thank you in advance for any help / advice

Cheers

Chris

Hello @studio313

What exactly do you mean with “take part in a discussion-group”?

The users dont want to get notifications anymore about specific topics? They want to hide specific forums/topics? Or do you mean that they want to remove themself from a specific usergroup to which they got assigned by an administrator?

HI @asgaros,

Thank you for replying so quickly and apologies for the confusion.

As you suggested, I meant for users to be able to remove themselves from a specific user group to which they got assigned to by an administrator.

I an see that they are turn off notifications but cannot see anywhere where they can remove themselves.

Is this possible at all?

Cheers

Chris

Hallo again @studio313

Unfortunately its currently not possible for users to remove themself from specific usergroups. The current intention of usergroups is to define category-access and allow administrators to flag/categorize users based on internal rules or maybe also behavior. There are also hidden usergroups so a user maybe cannot even see if he is assigned to a specific group – so it would also be impossible that he can remove himself from it.

Maybe I add an option for this in the future but I cannot give you any details about it yet.
