Setting a Custom Post Type Value for Asgaros

Is there a way to change the default custom post type value from “message” to something completely different? Our environment has a fairly complex build that uses a “message” post type already, so it would be great to configure AF without having to rewrite everything else.

Asgaros Forum does not use any custom post type with this name.
