Send an email to have a potential user sign up

I want to use my forum for my art students to have discussions. I want to be able to send them a link to the forum for them to be able to register themselves on my website. Is there a way to do this?

You about just sending them a mail containing the link to the forum? 🙂

If the users are already registered on your website, you could also use some kind of newsletter-plugin to notify them.
