Problem with the translation

I’ve got a dutch site and I am satisfied with the forum, but I face a nasty problem with the dutch translation as you can see at the picture.

As you also can see the word “by” isn’t translated at the forum page, but it is at the widget.

Is there any way to solve this?

So you say it’s because of the translation of WP instead of the Asgaros Forum plugin?

Translations are managed and provided via the official WordPress plugin translation website. If there are some errors inside the translations you can suggest correct ones for the Asgaros Forum plugin there. After a while they will got approved by a Plugin Translation Editor/Official WordPress Administrator. I can only have approval-privileges for translations of my mother tongue (german, and english).

If you cant wait for updated official translations, you can use a translation plugin like Loco Translate to fix some of the translations by yourself on your website.

If you want to get a Plugin Translation Editor for Asgaros Forum in Dutch, please let me know. I can make a request so you can translate and approve translations by yourself and make them available for all other WordPress users.

I also ran into problems with translation, so I post it here. Using the default German language setting works without any problems. But I prefer the alternate formal German language setting on my website. Setting WP to “Deutsch (Sie)” turns Agaros back to English. I installed the small plugin “Language fallback”, which should do the job to redirekt to the default “German”, but it seems not to work here and there are no further settings. I don’t know, on which side the problem is.

So what can I do? I would rewrite and share a translation to formal German, but I’m a bit confused about the right place to do and the WP mechanisms to use this translation. Would it be a good idea to work out and send you a asgaros_de_de_formal.po file?

momentan existiert noch keine Übersetzung für Deutsch (Formal). Wenn du möchtest, kannst du bei der Erstellung dieser behilflich sein. Dazu bitte einfach die Übersetzungen für Stable (Latest Release) auf dieser Seite einpflegen, damit ich sie freischalten kann:

Über diese Website eingetragene Übersetzungen haben den Vorteil, dass sie für alle WordPress-User für dieses Plugin zur Verfügung stehen werden. Sobald ich Zeit habe, werde ich ebenso versuchen, fehlende Übersetzungen nachzutragen. 🙂

Hallo Thomas,

schon erledigt. Das geht ja super einfach: de-default.po-Datei runterladen, in PoEdit durchscannen, die paar Änderungen einarbeiten und schließlich wieder auf der de-formal-Seite importieren. Geht viel schneller als Eintrag für Eintrag am Bildschirm eintippen, so hat’s nun keine Viertelstunde gedauert.

Wie geht’s jetzt weiter?

Danke für die Auskunft (ja ich rede auch deutsch^^) und ich mach mich mal an die Arbeit.
Sollte es unverhofft doch nicht gelingen, dann lass ich es dir wissen.

Die formale Übersetzung läuft jetzt bei mir. Ich habe die Dateien in “asgaros-forum-de_DE_formal.po” und ~”.mo” umbenannt und per ftp nach wp-content/languages/plugins hochgeladen.

Okay, alles klar, danke! Soll ich die de_DE_formal-Dateien noch mit hochladen oder erübrigt sich das?
