Possible to use without registration or login?

Hi,

Great plugin! I was wondering if it’s possible to set up Asgaros so that users can create topics and post without having to log in or register. Currently, we have the forum set up on a password protected page, and we’re trying to keep it there without them having to log in twice in order to use the forum.

If this is not possible, is it possible to make it so that new member registrations are not automatically approved (i.e., they must be approved by someone in the backend of WordPress before the new member can take part in the forum)?

Finally, is it possible for forum members to all use the same password? The members are already logging into a password protected WordPress page to get access to the forum, and then need to log in a second time to use the forum. We thought if everyone used the same password as the one used to login to the password protect page, it would make for easier access to the forum.

Hey @dbcoleman,

you can use the setting “Allow guest postings” in the feature section. That would allow everyone to create a topic and write replies in your forum. The only problem would be that every post will show Guest, so it could be a bit confusing.

To approve new users there is a plugin called “New User Approve“.

To give everyone the password seems to be not a really good idea, so everyone could use everyone’s password to write in the forum.

Where do you manage your users? Maybe it would be a good way to automatically create new users from a csv file like with this Plugin. You can set up that every user will receive an email with their credentials.
