Although I don’t have a default forum defined in Settings for new blog posts to my Wordpress site, I can choose the forum to which I want the blog post added from a dropdown in the righthand sidebar when the post is created.

This all works mostly as I’d expect, the post is immediately added to the selected forum … BUT no notifications are sent out for the new forum topic.

I have a few questions:

1. Are notifications ever sent out in respect of topics added automatically from a new blog post, or only for topics added via the Asgorus forum UI?
2. Will notifications only be sent for new blog posts if the forum is pre-defined in Settings, rather than selected from the Create Forum Topic dropdown when I create the blog post
3. Is there something I need to change / configure in order for the notifications to be sent?

I don’t know if it’s relevant, but the forum to which the new topic was added is a Closed forum. The blog post was created by an Admin user, permitted to add new topics in this forum.
