Moderators not showing up

I set a user as a moderator and have them as author (tried editor also) but once they log in, the forum is not showing up in their left hand column. There is no way they can add a category, user, or do anything else.

What am I missing that I need to set up?

Hello CantFind,

at the moment moderators have only the permissions to do front-end actions like deleting posts/topics, editing and moving them. Structural stuff and configurations are limited to administrators of the website.

Hello, first off, I love the forum and it is better than anything I have seen!

I am just getting started with this new forum and trying to set up a couple guys as moderators. Under the users tab in WP, I have edited their roles as moderators and saved it. However, on their end, they can not moderate anything, their roles are as if they were contributors.

To see what they were seeing, I created a test user and assigned it the role of moderator and sure enough, I am unable to moderate or edit post. If I upgrade my test user to the role to administrator, I can edit and moderate as expected.

I have done some searching on the web and the only thing that I found close to this problem is this:

Moderator role can't create or manage Forums

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Ron Rollo,

when you open the profile of a user in the WordPress backend and scroll down a little bit, you will find two checkboxes: One for making an user a moderator and one for banning an user. When you activate the first one, it should work. 🙂

Thank you Asgaros! That did the trick. I can’t believe I over looked that detail. Again, great forum software!
