Main DB pw changed, forums broke

I was wondering how to fix the issue of a DB pw change. I got the site back up by changing the config.php file pw to the new one.

The forums are not there I assume it has something to do with the main db pw change. Can you point me in the right direction where I can fix this?

If i uninstall / delete the plugin will my forums be there when I reinstall?

Uninstalling the forum will also remove all its data. So better be careful with that.
