Limited text or time?
Quote from yolandal on April 9, 2018, 12:24 pmHi there, one of my users experienced that his post wasn’t send. He quoted a text and typed his reply below. He was wondering if there was a limitation to the text (he typed about 1 screenpage) or that there was a time-out while typing.
This is the first time it happened (and we have many users a day) so it can be a local problem, but want to be sure.

The maximum size of the post-content is set to the LONGTEXT-value of MySQL, which usually allows you to save up to 4 GiB of data.
Its possible that a timeout occured or that the WordPress login-cookie was not valid anymore and he got logged-out. I didnt get any other reports about this so I assume that this was a one-time problem.
I am aware about some problems in combinations with Emojis inside of posts – but this is caused by a wrong database-configuration. Can you ask if the user put any emojis inside it?

Quote from yolandal on April 10, 2018, 7:18 pmHe was using the Quote option and didn’t use any emoticons. He tried it twice, the 3rd time (he had to re-type) his post was sent.
I also think it was a one-time issue as no one else has this problem. I also simulated what he did and didn’t have any problems.
Thank you for your quick reply 🙂
