Issue with Email Encoder plugin on re-editing
Quote from ruewa on July 19, 2022, 8:26 pmI use the plugin Email Encoder to protect email addresses on the site. This plugin detects per default all email addresses on the whole site in order to encrypt them.
This works also on Asgaros – at first. I can insert an email address in a post and save it – it’s all perfect, the email link works and a secured-icon ist shown besides the link. The mess begins, when I re-edit this post. Then the link is converted into a lot of code and it does not work any more. After saving this code salad remains. The plugin works flawlessly with Wordpress posts and pages, re-editing is no problem. The error comes into being, when Asgaros loads the posting back into the editor. Hence I guess the problem might be on the Asgaros side.
I first looked for other email encryption plugins, but there are not so much good&free ones in the wild. Then i turned the option “Full-page Scan” off and secured the addresses on my site individually with shortcodes (which does not work with Asgaros posts). I can live with this workaround, because there are not much email addresses on the public side of the website and the forum is accessible only to logged-in users, so there’s no big need to protect them. But perhaps you have an idea to fix this.
Best regards,
Ruediger
