Include forum name in notifications

We have a number of different forums for use with different kinds of topics, and I have been asked by one of our users if it is possible to include the name of the forum in the notification email.

For example, at the moment the subject for a notification for a new topic is “New topic: ###TITLE###”. What would be ideal is if this could be extended to be something like “New topic: ###TITLE### in forum ###FORUM###” which would allow our users to set up a rule depending on the type of message they are receiving.

Is there any placeholder text for the name of the forum such as ###FORUM###? If not, please could this be considered for a future release.

There have been several requests for that feature. I did a pull request implementing that, and it was merged into the plugin in January. A new version has come out since then, so the feature is implemented. If you have the latest version, you should be able to use ###FORUM### in the notifications.

Thanks for your very prompt response.

I have the latest version of the plugin, but putting ###FORUM### in the notification subject didn’t get resolved, it just appeared as text. See attached screenshot of sent message.

Will this only work in the body of the mail?

@ruth-fowler, I just tested, and you are right. The placeholder doesn’t work in the subject line, but does work in the body. That was likely an oversight on my part when I suggested the change.

Perhaps @asgaros can fix that in the next update, but he hasn’t been active for a few months.

Okay @asgaros, issue is created. I made a suggestion how to do it, but really don’t know if it is right.
