I'm probably doing something wrong…

I am new… I only installed your plugin a couple of days ago…

I created categories and forums within them;

I started a test tropic within the first forum;

When I look at the “Overview: screen, I can see the topic listed;

When I clickk on the forum name, the resulting forum page tells me there are no topics;

When I click on  the topic title from the overview screen, the topic displays;

I am puzzled.

I have attached screem images to show this:

Hello darnoldy,

can you first check if this is a compatibility-issue with another plugin? Especially caching-plugins can lead to problems in combination with forum-systems. Try to disable other plugins for a short time for testing purposes to check if its working again after it.

I only have 3 other plugins active: Contact Form 7, Recent Posts with Excerpts, and Social Media Feather.

Deactivating them had no effect.

The page is at (since that is probably your next question) ptitraining.processes.org/discussion-groups/

Mh, I had one another report about this behavior but could not reproduce this. Can you share the following information with me:

  • Which role has the user who created the topic (admin, mod, normal user, guest)
  • Which role has the user who cannot see the topic inside the forum (admin, mod, normal user, guest)
  • Do you use user groups? If so, which groups are assigned to the affected user?
  • What is the name of the theme you are using?
  • Some screenshots of the structure-configuration with the access-settings of the categories on it would be also helpful
  • And another screenshot of your normal Asgaros Forum settings

This would help me to create a installation with the same settings which could help me to reproduce the error hopefully.

Another question which just came into my mind: Do you use shortcode-parameters or the default [forum]-shortcode?

  • Which role has the user who created the topic (admin, mod, normal user, guest)

  • Which role has the user who cannot see the topic inside the forum (admin, mod, normal user, guest)

The answer to both of these questions is the same— me, I’m an (the) admin.

  • Do you use user groups? If so, which groups are assigned to the affected user?

I have created some usergroups, but have assigned none of them to anyone—including myself

  • What is the name of the theme you are using?

It is twentysixteen, with extensive CSS changes and a few custom page templates (the forum is not on one of those)

  • Some screenshots of the structure-configuration with the access-settings of the categories on it would be also helpful

  • And another screenshot of your normal Asgaros Forum settings

I used the default.

Hello again,

I had a look with your configuration and it seems all to work fine. Can you send me a screenshot of your wp_forum_topics-table (via phpMyAdmin) so I can check if its a database problem – which is also very unlikely because in this case topics would even not appear in the overview. Have you checked if some caching is enabled on your webserver? Maybe some old version is “stored” on your webserver.
