I guess this is a configuration issue of your MySQL database-server. They often have a minimum requirement length for word-phrases of at least 4 characters.

Ideographic languages such as Chinese and Japanese do not have word delimiters. Therefore, the FULLTEXT parser cannot determine where words begin and end in these and other such languages.

You have to directly adjust the settings of your database-server. If you dont know where to do it, you have to contact your webhoster because they can provide you all relevant information.
