How to set up Asgaros Forum so users get minimal or no dashboard?
Quote from GordonS on August 2, 2017, 4:16 pmWhat roles and capabilities need I set up to allow registered users to post to fora, but not give them access to all the other stuff that a forum poster does not need, please?
Can I take users straight to the forum page, rather that to the dashboard. That happens if I login on the forum page, but if I log out then in, I get the dashboard. I know many of the people I wish to use the fora will not tolerate that.
Thanks.

I had the same problem. I’m not sure whether it’s the best solution, but I solved it with a combination of two plugins:
I put the WP Members login widget into the sidebar of the forum and disabled Dashboard access for subscribers. I also used the plugin Widget Options to hide this Login widget outside of my internal pages for registered users.
Hope this helps. But if there’s a better solution, please let me know.
