How do I suppress all displays of member email addresses for non-admin members?

I don’t want member email addresses to ever be displayed, where do I change a setting to turn that off?

Hello @dvemail

The forum does not show mail-addresses of members to the public. Can you post a screenshot?

I dont want it to show email addresses to anyone, including logged i members

As you can see from this screen shot, one logged in user can see the email address of a different user.  This needs to be suppressed.

This information is definitely not available by default. I dont even have implemented any code-logic for “Last Name” and “User Name”. Have you modified any of the forum-files?

No, the forum files have not been modified as far as I know.

It would be nice if you could post the content of the asgaros-forum/includes/forum-profile.php file here so I can check it.

Please also ensure that it is not a problem in combination with another WordPress extension.

I’m having the same concern. Our WordPress user names are their email addresses, therefore the email address appears on the forum postings under their nickname. Is there a way to not show the user names on the postings, but only their nicknames?

Thanks!

User Name Example

Hello @richardb97

This is the unique username used during the registration which is used for the mentioning-functionality. All other names which can get changed by the user are not guaranteed to be unique (for example you can have multiple users with the name Thomas). So in this case when you would refer to a user called Thomas it would be impossible to determine by the forum which user exactly you mean. Thats why unique usernames must be used her.

The only solution in your case would be to disable the entire mentioning-functionality in Forum -> Settings to remove this information from the posts of users.

Turning off mentioning does exactly what I was looking for as it still displays the nickname, but hides the user name.

Thanks for the tip!

Asgaros is an awesome product! Thanks for all the hard work that you’ve put in to it.
