How can I add a button link to the forum in the website?

I don’t want to publish the forum on the website at all, it’s just a private message board for a few members. How can I just create a link on the website for users to login? I’m sure I’m missing something easy but I can’t find how to do this…

When the options “Forum visible to logged in users only“ and “Show login button” are enabled, only logged-in members have access to the forum. The login-link will be shown in the top forum-navigation.
