Forum link not responding & all thread missing
Quote from chin.mk on April 8, 2019, 10:37 amHi there –
Here is my situation,In the beginning my forum was having issue where no matter which link I clicked on main page, it will load me to the main page. It won’t brings me to any of the link I clicked.
I think that there might be some updates (not too sure which one) that broken the forum.
From my checking, seems either the Wordpress and/or the Asgaros was updated during that period of time.
And so, I tried downgrading both for testing but issue is still the same.
And when I upgraded again to the original version, my whole forum’s thread went missing and what is left is just the “First Forum” thread.
May I know how can I retrieve all the old forum thread?
Thanks and regards
Max

The issue with not-working links you have described are usually caused by caching-plugins or some ajax-functionalities of themes which not correctly handle page-parameters. If you encounter this issues again I suggest you to disable other plugins one-by-one for testing-purposes to verify which component is causing this issue.
Regarding your downgrade/upgrade process: I hope that you did not use the uninstall-function to replace versions because uninstalling a plugin usually deletes all content created by it as well. A more safer way is to replace the files only on your server directly with a FTP-application.
If you did not uninstall the plugin directly there is still the chance that the data is still there. You can check out if the wp_forum tables in the database still contain data. If so, it should be possible to restore data by re-assigning a couple of IDs directly inside the database via a tool like phpMyAdmin. If you need help with it you can contact me via mail (see contact-page).
