Fix URLs /forum/member/
Quote from piligrim on May 13, 2024, 12:28 pmI installed your plugin and called the shortcode on the main page, but I encountered a problem that any URLs /forum/members/ are in this format, but should be like this /members/
This is a very urgent matter

Quote from qualmy91 on May 21, 2024, 6:39 amHello @christine,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Let’s clarify how the URL slugs are structured in Asgaros Forum and suggest a way to adjust them for a cleaner URL appearance.
The URL you mentioned (
https://sunnova-solar-fraud.org/forum/forum/...
) has two instances of ‘forum’:
- The first ‘forum’ is likely the slug of your WordPress page where the forum is embedded.
- The second ‘forum’ is automatically added by the Asgaros Forum to indicate that it’s displaying forum content.
To avoid the repetitive
/forum/forum/
in your URLs, you can change one or both of these slugs. Here’s how:Changing the WordPress Page Slug:
Go to Pages in your WordPress dashboard and find the page that has the forum embedded. Consider changing the page slug to something like:
- community
- discussions
- support
Changing the Asgaros Forum Slug:
Navigate to Forum > Settings > URLs & SEO in your WordPress dashboard. You can change the ‘URL slugs for views’ for a cleaner path. Some good examples include:
- talk instead of ‘forum’
- thread instead of ‘topic’
- post remains intuitive for adding new entries
Here are two examples combining different slugs:
Example 1:
- WordPress Page Slug: support
- Asgaros Forum Slug: talk
- Resulting URL:
https://sunnova-solar-fraud.org/support/talk/...
Example 2:
- WordPress Page Slug: community
- Asgaros Forum Slug: thread
- Resulting URL:
https://sunnova-solar-fraud.org/community/thread/...
After making these changes, ensure to refresh your permalinks by going to Settings > Permalinks in WordPress and simply clicking ‘Save Changes’ to flush the rewrite rules.
I hope this helps resolve the issue! If you encounter any further difficulties or have additional questions, feel free to reach out.

Quote from qualmy91 on May 21, 2024, 6:47 amHi @piligrim,
Sorry for the late reply. It seems the URL structure issue you’re experiencing is similar to what Christine mentioned, resulting from the page slug setup. Changing the slug of the page hosting the forum will alter the first part of the URL, but you will still end up with a structure like
support/members
.For greater flexibility and enhanced functionality, I recommend integrating the Ultimate Member plugin with my Toolbox for Asgaros Forum. This combination allows you to:
- Create separate pages for each section (like login and profile) with individual slugs, which avoids the nested URL structure.
- Add more fields to the user profiles.
- Enable users to change their profile images easily.
To set up Toolbox for Asgaros Forum and integrate it with Ultimate Member, you can follow the detailed instructions available here:
https://www.toolboxforasgaros.com/documentation/
This approach should provide a more streamlined and user-friendly experience on your forum. Let me know if you need further assistance!

Quote from Christine on May 21, 2024, 9:00 amThanks so much, @qualmy91!
Oddly, I only changed the forum page slug and both “forum” disappeared, but that’s fine. Very much appreciate your help!
And I did not know about Toolbox, never saw it mentioned anywhere. Inline images will be great!
The next thing on my wishlist is topic descriptions 🙂
And oddly, I had to reset my password here yesterday and I could swear that I saw an advert for weDocs in my profile here (couldn’t find it again), so I’m checking that out too since I don’t like BetterDocs. My brain is fried.
Glad I remembered to change my home page setting before changing the slug.
Thanks again!

I’m glad to hear that changing the forum page slug resolved the issue with the duplicate “forum” in the URL, and that you’re finding the Toolbox for Asgaros Forum helpful! Inline images can indeed enhance the interaction on the forum.
The disappearance of the duplicate “forum” in the URL happens because different views use specific slugs set in Asgaros Forum settings. When you change the page slug and then access different forum functionalities like “activity,” “search,” or “topic,” these use their respective slugs instead of “forum”.
