this sounds a little bit strange. Another user had the same problem because of an issue with another plugin. Can you please first try to disable other plugins for testing purposes to figure out if its caused by another plugin? Contact me here again if this does not fix the problem.

Try this a different way.  Does your forum template send email notifications to the users when working properly?  What type of notifications does it send?

Normally it should only send notifications to users who have a subscription for a specific topic or forum. So they are getting mails for every new post written from every person? Have you tried to disable other plugins?

if you are using user groups in your forum: Yes, its a bug at the moment. A fix for this will come next week.
