Email could not be sent after installing Asgaros on a subdomain
Quote from Changes on May 14, 2019, 4:18 pmHello Thomas,
After doing some experiments with Asgaros, I installed it on a subdomain. However. I ran into some communication troubles. Experimenting in a normal domain, everything works OK. But having installed it in a subdomain nobody (including myself as admin) receives mails.
Did you ever ran into that and more important… is there a solution? Where do I have to look
Regards Rob
This is an error that occurs
https://subdomain.domain.nl/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
The email could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.

I am not aware of any issues in combination with subdomains. A couple of installations I manage are also installed on subdomains and there are no problems regarding mails.
The lostpassword-mail is a core-function of WordPress so it seems that not only the mails of Asgaros Forum are affected by this. Based on the error-message there is a problem with PHPs mail-function. I suggest you to contact your webhosting-provider. Maybe PHP is not configured correctly for sending mails in a sub-domain environment or your hoster really disabled this function in its PHP-configuration for subdomains as the error-message says.

Your response also supports me in my contacts with my provider. If you find that useful, I will let you and the other participants know if the diagnosis is correct and the problem has been resolved. Thanks again!

Although I have the idea that there must also be another solution like you suggested Thomas, I have decided not to discuss any further about PHP configurations with my provider and accept the suggestion to install a plugin called CB Change Mail Sender. Having installed the plugin my problem my problem was solved and in addition that plugin has also makes it possible to choose any address I want.
