Deleting own recent post
Quote from nemo on July 13, 2019, 4:47 amI’ve just noticed that if I create a reply in any topic it wont let me delete it after posting. To do that it needs another reply.
Am I overlooking a setting, or something?

What kind of permissions do you have in your forum? Do you talk about new topics or new posts in topics?
Also keep in mind that it is not possible to remove the first post only because the first post is basically the initial post which belongs to the topic. If you want to remove the first post immediately, you have to delete the entire topic – otherwise the author of the second post would be the topic-creator which can be missleading.

Quote from nemo on July 14, 2019, 11:30 pmI’m OK on not being able to remove the first and only post, and why, but what I’m talking about is any following post in the topic.
As far as permissions, I have enabled editing or deleting own post, but not topic.. I make all my new users contributors but in this instance I’m referring to my own experience which is as an administrator.
It seems directly, and only, related to the latest post in that topic. If I do a reply then the order of posting changes and the former from latest to second oldest, and deletion is made optional.
It also means that if you create a post, and find for some reason you don’t wish to include in that topic at all, you have to put something in it before, as I say, it ages in post order and you can delete it.
I ask out of interest only since for me, anyway, it is easy to place other content in it. but I know from being part of a RC Groups forum that you cannot remove a post of your own, at any time.

Sorry for the late reply. Now I am aware of the problem. As far as I see you have changed the order of your posts. Unfortunately my current check for the first-post is based on the regular order which is the reason why the first post in your topic is consideres as the oldest topic-starter-post and not the newest one. I need to evaluate if I can fix this somehow without breaking anything.

Quote from nemo on July 22, 2019, 11:23 pmI had wondered about that. My more regular members are used to seeing the newest post at the top of the view which is why I requested to be able to achieve that.
Certainly don’t break anything in an attempt to achieve this, it is not critical as the poster can easily just change the contents to something quick and easy. Then delete it later.
