Compatibility with User Registration plugin
Quote from carldowse on September 11, 2019, 12:15 pmHi
I need a password protected forum for my students. I’ve set up a forum with the Asgaros plugin and registration with the User Registration plugin. Registration works fine. Access to the forum requires students to log in. Students returning after I have approved registration can log in but cannot access the forum. Is this a compatibility issue? Or maybe my setting are somehow not right. Any ideas?
Thanks
Carl

What exact error-message they get when they try to access the forums? Please also check your access-settings in Forum -> Structure and ensure that you dont use caching on the forum-page.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! It seems that the forum doesn’t recognise that the students have logged in. So the red bar with the message “Sorry, only logged-in users can access the forum.” is still there. When I log in as Admin I can see the forum, but the students logging in with the User Registration plugin can’t.
When I go to the ‘Structure’ page in Asgaros, I don’t see anything about ‘caching’. Am I looking in the wrong place?
Thanks again – your plugin is great, by the way!

The forum seems to be working fine now. The problem was human error – mine!
Thanks again for your time.

Sorry for the late reply. I am happy that you already could solve the problem.
Caching functionality is only available if you are using a caching-extension in WordPress. Those often cause troubles so its good to disable it at least for the page which contains the forum shortcode. 🙂
