Can I disable replies in a 'closed' topic?

Hi!

Within my forum, I just set up a ‘closed’ topic that I’d like to use for administrator announcements. I don’t want non-administrators to be able to add post additional content of any kind within this ‘closed’ topic. However, it appears that users can still post (add a reply) within this topic. Is that right? Does ‘closed’ only refer to making new topics? If so, is there any other way I can prevent non-administrator posts within ‘closed’ topics?

Thanks for your time!

Hey @taz,

usually it’s not possible for users to reply on a closed topic. Only Admins and Moderators are able to write a reply.

Did you try to log in as a user that is not a forum admin or forum moderator?

CLOSED! That’s the answer! I didn’t understand that topics had to be closed. I assumed a locked topic automatically locked replies within, Now I understand that individual topics can be closed to prevent replies. Thank you very much!
