Bug:Hyperlinks auto-changed when editing other parts of posts

Hi Asgaros,

This looks like an obvious bug. I’ve had a number of users of our forum run into this issue and these are the steps that should allow you to reproduce:

  1. Create a forum topic. Include some text. Add a link, including URL, “link text” and check the box to “Open link in a new tab”. Hit “Submit”.
  2. Now edit the topic and change some text, but don’t touch anything at all to do with the link you included. Hit “Submit”.
  3. Try clicking on the link to find it doesn’t work as the URL text has somehow been changed.
  4. Edit the topic again and take a look at the details under “link options”. The URL text has been changed and the box to “Open link in a new tab” has been unchecked. e.g. if the original text included for the URL was:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news

Then it has been automatically changed to:

Hi Asgaros,

I realised that I never received a reply to my post. Is there another way to report what looks like an obvious bug to you?

I would be grateful for a reply and for this to be fixed as it’s causing some frustration, particularly for our less technically minded forum members as they seem to struggle to follow my suggested workaround when it happens to them!

Thanks,

Steve
