Asgaros not interacting well with my site

Wondering if I can get some help with some peculiar issues happening to my wordpress site when I attempt to interact with Asgaros from a user perspective.

Here is my test site so you can interact for yourself: http://caregogi.04205b0.netsolhost.com/careforum/

  1. On Firefox – I cannot login as a user. I register an account, set a password, but cannot login – it just redirects to the homepage
  2. On internet explorer – it displays a “Sorry, this topic does not exist” message for every post
  3. On google chrome – it randomly bounces between showing posts and showing the “Sorry, this topic does not exist” message

I have bb press installed because my theme is friendly with it. I tried uninstalling it and it did no good. Please help me get this to work – I really love the look of the Asgaros forum and do not want to have to use bb press.

Thank you!

Here’s a video of the issue – you can really get a feel for how much it’s messing up on page refreshes:

Basically what you’re seeing here is:

  • 2-3 login attempts failed until I pressed the login with google button, which reloaded the page and I was magically logged in
  • The main forum page displayed 0 posts 0 topics under “Alzheimer’s Dementia”
  • When I clicked on “Alzheimer’s Dementia” there is a post there
  • When I click to view the post it’s a page not found

Hello @rachel-carey

This random-behavior seems a little bit strange. Are you using some kind of caching-extensions for WordPress? I guess this is an incompatibility with one of your WordPress extensions because I didnt get any other reports about behaviors like you described. Please try to disable them one-by-one for testing purposes and check if everything is working again.

Hello @asgaros,

Thank you for your reply. I tested all of my plugins individually and I received the same random behavior in each test.

For reference the plugins we have installed are as follows:

  • ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO
  • Akismet Anti Spam
  • bbPress
  • Blog Designer Pro
  • Broken link Checker
  • Contact Form 7
  • Mailchimp for Wordpress
  • Nextend Social Login
  • Page Builder by SiteOrigin
  • Really Simple CAPTCHA
  • SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle
  • Yoast SEO

Do you know if any of these have been known to cause issue? Like I said, I individually unplugged and tested the site without each of these and still got the random behavior.

Let me know if you have any recommendations.

Thank you,

Rachel

Hello @rachel-carey

Sorry for the late reply. The listed plugins seem fine for me. But I think there is something wrong with your server or your WordPress installation itself. For example when using this URL even the style-sheets of the forum are not loaded/applied correctly:

I also get a lot of errors when visiting your sites:

I apologize about that. You just happened to check it out on a day where we attempted to configure the site with an SSL certificate and it just wound up with endless redirects.

You can check out the behavior it exhibits now:

It’s completely random still. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled all plugins individually and am still getting the same behavior.

Let me know if you have any advice at all, it would be much appreciated!

Hello again @rachel-carey

I guess there is something completely wrong with your webserver or WordPress, but not the forum plugin itself.

When I refresh the overview of your forum one time it says that there is only one topic, the other time there is at least one topic in every forum. This doesnt make any sense at all. I assume that this might be a caching-issue caused by a wrong webserver-configuration. I think the best would be to contact your webhosting-provider so they can have a look into it.
