ASGAROS IS DEAD

After https://asgaros.com/support/topic/removed-from-wordpress-org/ I thought that maybe Thomas Belder was having some personnel problems.

But he was very recently (4 hours ago) active on his linkedin page: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomasbelser/recent-activity/

So:

Asgaros vulnerabilities
Huge spamming of this Asgaros forum

Decision: migration to WPForo.

You’re right – the spam here is ridiculous (see above). I posted a support question a few days ago, along with an offer to help manage the spam problem, and I’ve heard nothing. Nada. Zilch.

So disappointing. I really love this plugin, but the lack of support/neglect of this website makes it clear that I need to find another solution. I’ll look into WPForo… hopefully, it won’t be too difficult to migrate.

Vulnerabilities got fixed in time (even though the reports claim something different without any technical evidence).

This forum is managed in my free time. You don’t pay for any support. So don’t expect any obligations that there will be quick replies to all requests.

If business support is required, I suggest you to look for an alternative.

I never had problems with forum spammers. Install a good geo and ip blocker, a good login protection and all is well. These are normal requirements for an administrator. Have fun with the money-machine WPForo.
