Asgaros Forum v2.0: Time to move forward!
Quote from Asgaros on January 30, 2022, 1:41 pmI am happy to announce version 2.0 of the Asgaros Forum plugin for WordPress. I know, it was a bit silent in the last couple of months (maybe even years), but now it is time to move forward.
Change in Versioning
This version jump probably creates big expectations, but you can consider this version as a little enhancement release which prepares the code-bases for exciting new features. From this release on, Asgaros Forum is transitioning away from Semantic Versioning and adopting WordPress versioning, which fits best to the WordPress ecosystem.

In the last releases, a lot of security-improvements have been implemented into the code-base. We will continue focussing on this important aspect in this and upcoming releases to ensure that Asgaros Forum is following highest security standards.

What comes next?
Actually I planned to include the long-awaited Private Forums functionality in this v2.0 release to justify a big version-jump like the current one a bit more. However, multiple long-awaited bug-fixes and a security-fix brought me to the decision to release this version a bit earlier than expected. Nevertheless, I made big progress on Private Forums in the last couple of weeks and will definitely release this new feature in the upcoming version 2.1. You can follow the progress closely in this GitHub ticket:

Version 2.0 of Asgaros Forum will be available in the next 24 hours via the WordPress Updater!

Quote from Biker on January 31, 2022, 9:28 amThanks for all the work…
I installed the update yesterday, but haven’t really looked at the changes yet.
But our members immediately noticed something new.
Namely the pagination.
I was immediately asked if I could switch back to the old version.
That’s why I’m asking here if this can be adjusted somewhere.
Unfortunately, there is also no translation into German.

Quote from N3k0 on February 1, 2022, 8:22 pmCan we have in this new route a option to add a “dark mode” to the forum? that will be nice 🙂 adding in the style section options to add our own colors when the forum detects dark mode is on.
Cheers!

Ваше здоровье!

Quote from Polarwelt on February 18, 2022, 2:18 pmHallo @asgaros,
Danke nochmals.
Gruß Robert

Quote from aamarkus on March 29, 2022, 8:50 amHallo @asgaros,
Markus
Hello @asgaros,
our users are also complaining about the new page navigation and we would also like to have the old page navigation back, or perhaps a selection in the backend as to what type it should be would not be bad at all..
Is it somehow possible to switch back to the old page navigation?
Greetings,
Markus
