Asgaros Forum v1.4.5: Maintenance Release
The brand new version 1.4.5 of the Asgaros Forum plugin for WordPress comes with a lot of bugfixes and improvements.
Widget Improvements
The widgets now have an additional option which allows you to remove avatars from them. An reply-counter has been added to the “Recent Forum Topics” widget as well.
Notification Improvements
The author of a new post/topic has been added to notification mails.
Huge Performance Improvements
There was a big performance drop when a forum has thousands of posts or topics. We made many changes to our database-queries so that the overall execution time for big communities could be reduced by 99%.
Move Topic Improvements
The list of forums which is displayed when moving topics got improved. There is an indent for subforums which makes it easier to find the correct location for a topic.
New Hooks
The following hooks have been added, which allows developers to further extend the forum:
- asgarosforum_before_delete_post
- asgarosforum_before_delete_topic
- asgarosforum_after_delete_post
- asgarosforum_after_delete_topic
Fixed bugs
A couple of annoying bugs got fixed. Those are:
- It is not longer possible for spammers to create content which is hidden.
- Links are not longer broken/missing when the filename of uploads contains some special characters.
- Uploaded pdf-files were not displayed correctly because the plugin tried to generate thumbnails for them. This behavior has been disabled.
- HTML-entities are not longer shown in the subject of notification mails.
Besides of that we made some small design changes, general performance improvements and a couple of code optimizations.
Version 1.4.5 of the Asgaros Forum will be available in the next 72 hours via the WordPress Updater!
