Asgaros Forum – one of the cookie overload our server – Support

Hello Asgaros,

We recently discovered your great forum, and wants to switch to it.

We installed it and started our tests. Unfortunately it seems the cookie that check read/unread is overloading our server, asgarosforum_unread_cleared is activated on all pages of our site, and it seems to says to our cache system to not cache all of our pages, would it be possible to have this only on the forum itself ?

We are using varnish for the cache of our site.

Can you apply those changes and give me feedback if everything is working fine so I can release an update in the next 24 hours? 🙂

Thank you for the quick reply and for the hotfix, it is now working fine 🙂 Now we have our forum cacheless, any suggestions as to how caching a forum with a unread/read function ? Right now we don’t know how big it will grow, of course we hope it grow big 😉

Thanks for the feedback. I will include it in the next update which I will release on monday or tuesday.

I dont have any plans for caching yet because basically a forum is an active area which content changes all the time (last post, topic order, posts, edits, post-counters, statistics, etc).
