I will be setting up a forum for our group in the next couple of months. From all I have read regarding Asgaros it looks like a great option! One thing I couldn’t find in the forum or help documentation was whether there is an option to save or archive discussions? Asgaros seems like a well-developed program with continual updates. However, I’m worried that there may come a time when the plug-in is no longer being updated and we will want to migrate to a new platform. I don’t want to lose all our discussions.

At the moment there is no backup-script available. But: All posts are stored inside your database so it is very easy to export all of the existing data with a tool like phpMyAdmin. Other forum softwares also often provide importer-scripts which allow you to migrate from one forum to another one – so its nothing you need to be worried about.

I also dont plan to stop working on this project in the long-term run! 🙂
