Allowed fonts

What are the allowed fonts? I see the fonts can be changed to Google Fonts if a theme is using it or you have a plugin, but I would like to know what other fonts can be used without having to do anything extra. For instance, Arial, Helvetica, Courier, etc?

Basically you can add there anything you want. But you have to ensure that the font is included in your theme or its a font which is available on all platforms. The entire page would look terrible if you include some font-name there which only you have installed. You can check the following page for safe web-fonts:
