Adding new users
Quote from paulfilkin on March 29, 2024, 10:48 pmHi,
I am a new user to Asgaros so may well be doing something stupid, but I cannot log in with any new users I create. I have set up my new forum and intend to operate this with only one forum and topic as I intend to use this for some accessibility testing with blind users and need to make this as simple as possible. So far I can’t test it for accessibility myself as I can’t successfully add any test users. This is what I’ve done:
- created a category
- created a forum
- created a usergroup
- so far so good and I can use this as an admin
- I then add a new user to a test email
- I receive a notification email.
- This contains two links… why not just one? Which one should be used
- Can I customise this notification email?
- I test both links in an incognito browser
- both of them take me to a Wordpress login with one.com (hosts of my wordpress installation) and not to my new site
- both of them fail to recognise the new user and I cannot login
Are there other places I need to check and configure to improve this experience so I am never taken to one.com, and also so that logging in with the credentials I set up work?
Thanks for any advice!!
Paul.

If your language is German, please let me know, because then it will be easier for me and I won’t have to answer with my poor English.
What is in the backend under Settings › General
under
WordPress address (URL) and website address (URL) in it?
Maybe it’s because the URL of your forum isn’t there.

I’m a native English speaker…. also with poor English so you’re in good company! But feel free to use German if that’s easier for you.
I have this url in both fields: https://accessibility.filkin.com
I have tested with a colleague this afternoon in case the problem was with me, but she also gets taken through the one.com login and the password that was created when I added her doesn’t get to her so she has to use the forgotten password link immediately… also not a great experience and I really can’t have blind users being sent around the houses.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
