Adding Emoji (Or a list to choose) and Add a "Ban IP User"

Hello @Asgaro,

As always your forum is great !! Awesome work ! I was wondering if you could add some emoji ?

It’s possible to add plug-ins to our website but the Asgaros forum is an independant plug-in already so I was wondering if is it possible in a future update to have some emoji or a button with a list of emoji to choose which one ? πŸ™‚

Btw : It’s possible to ban someone, but when you ban him, he can always connect to the forum… So the ban is usefull ? Can you try to see if you can put an option to ban a user by his “IP” adress directly ? (To avoid some strangers or bot to register again for exemple)

Thanks you so much for your work and you answer ! Keep it up ! πŸ˜‰

About the emojis, you can use this plugin, add a simple smile face in the editor and its super easy to add some emojis.Β  the only con is the plugin no have to much support from devs :/ and its some how outdated, but works πŸ˜›

@n3ko

Thanks you for your answer. I already tried a plug-in but you can’t see this plug-ion when you answer to someone on a forum topic. You Theses plug-in are working when you are writing as an author on your website but not when you are answering to someone on Asgaro forum ^^

@thekillian

Well, in my case works fine in reply topics with a normal user account πŸ˜› (see screenshot)

Cheers!

Hello @thekillian

Please try to disable theΒ “Use minimalistic editor” option inΒ Forum -> Settings. Otherwise some editor-buttons will be hidden.

Regarding IP-Bans: Because of its dynamic nature I dont plan to add IP-bans. The IP can be easily changed by reconnecting your router to the internet. A lot of internet provider also use shared IP-ranges for its users which means: If you ban one IP, multiply users will be affected. So the risk is too high that in the long-term run some normal users cannot access your forum anymore.

To prevent bot-registrations you can try to use a plugin like the following:

Google Captcha (reCAPTCHA) by BestWebSoft
